What we Do
We are dedicated to the promotion of an accurate and interesting telling of all stories of the Expedition on the Yellowstone River (Rochejhone River) and the time and context in which they occured. We encourage cultural awareness, protection of sites, and preservation of the natural and historical resource along the trail focusing on the Yellowstone River.
Regular meetings are held the third Monday of each month September through May with the exception of December. Special events, workshops and field trips open to the public are typically held February through May.
Recent projects include an archaeological survey of William Clark’s July 1806 canoe camp, locating and signing the locale of “Clarks Crossing” near Billings, Montana and ongoing programs promoting an awareness of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The Rochejhone Chapter will also be hosting the 2017 Annual Meeting of the LCTHF.
